A Little Bit of Yummy House

Posted By Michelle on September 5, 2009

When we get a cold, we crave spice. For relief, really. We’ll skip the details.

And so; one fine June day, we dragged our death-worn bodies down to Yummy House. It’s an authentic Chinese restaurant just a mile from our beds and we’d heard about it via Chowhound but never got the chance to try it. Why not try it when the onset of Swine Flu is upon you.

All we can say is it’s freakin’ good. Real good. Damn good.

xo-beefExtra Spicey XO Beef (minus the dried seafood). I asked for more XO to increase the heat. They gave me a huge bowl and I used it…all.

7-treasures7 Treasures Pot: Scallops, Chicken, Shrimp, Mushroom, Squid, Carrots, and Tofu. Super authentic XO heat, super flavor…just what the doctor ordered.

We also sampled their eggrolls which were just okay and their steamed dumplings, which were mind blowing good. We both had wished we ordered our own plates of the dumplings.

No recipes this time round. We ask, instead, you visit Yummy House or check out Chowhound and visit the must-go authentic Chinese resturant in your neck-of-the-woods, just don’t go when your sick. We don’t want to catch your nasty germs.

Watch Dog, I think you should look for current data. As of 7/24/2009 (my birthday), Yummy House had an inspection and passed with flying colors. The inspector listed 8 minor violations and 0 critical, which is completely normal. To give you a comparison, Bern’s Steak House (a place I feel you may consider to be fine dining) had 11 critical and 7 minor violations on June 24, 2009.

Don’t be fooled people. It is perfectly safe to eat at Yummy House.
