Autographed Top Chef Cookbook GIVE-AWAY!
Posted By Greg on September 24, 2008
Last Saturday we had the opportunity to sit in on the Top Chef Tour.
Richard Blais of Season 4 and Carlos Fernandez of Season 2 demo-ed a “quick fire” challenge during three time spots. Richard taking the first.

Chef Carlos seemed to be very “into” the calculator. We don’t know why.
It was very cool to meet both Chef Richard and Chef Carlos, we even taped it! But then the gremlins came in the middle of the night and earsed the entire footage. Actually, some how, Fisty the Cat, erased all the footage. We’re still trying to figure out how he managed that one and are now a little afraid to sleep at night. A cat who can utilizes modern technology…you’d be a little unsettled too.
But, I digress.

Carlos laughing at yet another joke that quirky Richard threw the crowd.
During the cooking demo, Richard made a pan seared rosemary lamb chop and tzatziki based potato salad. We even got to try it and Richard did not disappoint. The guys also answered questions through out the show, but didn’t divulge too much gossip as we were really dying to hear about all the little spats, fights, romances, etc.

Yes, it does look like Chef Richard is grabbing air-boobs.
Afterward, we interviewed Richard and Carlos. We learned:
1. Thomas Keller is a meticulously organized man.
2. Daniel Boulud turns straight men gay with his charm.
3. Richard is seeking things outside of the restaurant kitchen.
4. Both Richard and Carlos would do Top Chef all over again.

Chef Richard demonstrated using a flame torch as a kitchen tool. Luckily, we all did not burn in the 25 X 25 carpeted room.
If you’ve missed the Top Chef Tour, you missed out, BUT we’ve got you covered!

Halibut cheeks are especially fine - they are large and succulent. Some fish cheeks contain a lot of bone and are not as nice to eat. But they all have flavour, yes
